Lucknow. These days the heat has reached its peak. The maximum temperature of Uttar Pradesh is above 40 degrees Celsius. Strong hot winds and heat waves have made life miserable for people. In such a situation, if pregnant women and children are a little careless, it can cost them dearly. There could be great harm to their health. Pregnant women and children should take special care of themselves in this scorching heat.
When Dr. Preeti Pandey, senior dietitian of Apollo Hospital was talked to, she said that pregnant women should first of all avoid going out in strong sunlight like between 12:00 noon to 4:00 pm, because the sunlight is very strong at this time. It is very important to cover yourself completely when you go out of the house. Maintain the amount of water in your body i.e. drink water while leaving the house. Leave with a water bottle with you. Try not to stay in the sun for too long. Keep drinking water from time to time. If you have forgotten to take the bottle out of the house, you can drink coconut water or any juice. Apart from this, keep taking all the medicines prescribed by the doctor on time.
Take care of children like this
Dr. Preeti Pandey said that it is very important for children to have adequate amount of water. If your child is small or big or goes out to play, then he must have a water bottle with him. Make it a habit to drink water from time to time and also take full care of children’s nutrition. Try to ensure that their summer food has good nutrition. He also said that it would be better if we protect children from too much sunlight.
Do not take energy drinks
Dr. Preeti Pandey told to avoid eating any kind of sealed food or drinking sealed juices. There is nothing like energy drink. All this harms health. Consume natural water like juice, coconut water, buttermilk, milk, curd or normal water. This advice is for everyone.
