Team India’s eyes on number one
Now after becoming full-time Test captain after 12 consecutive wins in the T20 format, Rohit will be eyeing to take the Indian team back to the number one spot. Currently, the Indian team is at the third position in the Test rankings. Rohit will make his first Test as Test captain in the two-match Test series against Sri Lanka starting March 4, while Sri Lanka will look to secure their first Test win on Indian soil.
The effort of the Indian team will be to collect this important point under the World Test Championship (2021-23). India has four victories under the Test Championship. In two they have lost while two were drawn. In the previous series against South Africa, the Indian team suffered a 1-2 loss after losing the first match at Centurion.
