Mumbai, August 5 (IANS)| The stage has been set for the return of the Vivo Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) with season 8 slated to begin from December this year with the players’ auction scheduled for August 29-31. League organizer Mashal Sports will auction season 8 players along with 12 franchises in Mumbai. The PKL 8 player pool consists of more than 500 players. According to the organisers, the salary purse for each franchise is Rs 4.4 crore.
The Season 8 player auction will see domestic, overseas and new young players (NYP) divided into four categories: Category A, B, C and D. Within each category, the players will be further sub-divided as ‘All-rounders’, ‘Defenders’ and ‘Raiders’. The base price range is Rs 30 lakh to Rs 6 lakh for each category. Each franchise can spend 4.4 crores for their squad for Season 8. The organizers said that this season will be started from December in a safe and safe manner in view of the Corona protocol. PKL Season-7 was organized in 2019. The league could not be organized in 2020 due to the Corona epidemic.
