Kyiv. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky says his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin may deliberately impose unrealistic demands on Kyiv as he wants to conquer not only Ukraine but also the Baltic nations.
As reported by Ukrainska Pravda, when Zelensky was asked to clarify what he meant by speaking about the risk of World War III in the event of failure to negotiate with Putin, Zelensky said, “It means Means he (Putin) is not going to end this war. His plan – in which Ukraine is treated as an intermediate step to the end result – is to annex the Baltic nations, which were part of the Soviet Union (He is considering) other nations, which used to be under the control of the Soviet Army and the Soviet Union.”
He said, “I am saying that if our talks with him fail, then it will be clear that he has not accidentally put terms on which we cannot agree. So he can say later. : They don’t want peace. As soon as it is used – if they do – they will have all their forces on the borders with Europe or NATO and then there will be a third world war.”
Earlier, in an interview with CNN on March 20, Zelensky had said that Ukraine would not compromise on its territorial integrity and sovereignty.
He also said that if all attempts to negotiate with Russia fail, it could mean that the conflict between the two countries would lead to a ‘third world war’.
