Pakistan Cricket Team T20 World Cup 2024: The T20 World Cup 2024 has been nothing less than a nightmare for the Pakistan team. The journey of the Pakistan team ended in the first round itself, during which it was also defeated by the US team, which was playing for the first time in the tournament. In such a situation, angry reactions have started against the players for Pakistan’s T20 World Cup campaign in the US. Pakistan fans are making many serious allegations against the players, including match fixing. Amidst all this, the PCB is considering using a rule to protect the players from such allegations.
This plan of PCB will save the lives of players
The Pakistan Cricket Board, which is embroiled in controversy, is considering using a new defamation rule to deal with unconfirmed claims and news. The PCB is considering legal action against these unconfirmed news. The PCB will use this new defamation law against digital and mainstream media which have been accusing Pakistani players of corruption in the World Cup or making personal comments about them. A reliable source in the PCB said that the board’s law department has also started working on a possible notice under this new defamation law.
The source said that these people will be asked to prove their allegations and will have to face action in case they do not do so under this new defamation law. Punjab Assembly has recently passed a bill related to digital media and defamation law, under which if a digital journalist or media person makes baseless allegations or personal attacks on a person holding a high position, then if found guilty, he can be fined heavily and even jailed.
Pakistani players are being heavily criticized
Pakistani players took their families with them to America for this tournament. Now these players are being criticized for taking their families along. According to local media reports, apart from about 34 players, support staff and officials in America, 26 to 28 family members were also present in the team hotel. These members included wives, children, parents and even siblings. According to the report, Babar Azam, Haris Rauf, Shadab Khan, Fakhar Zaman and Mohammad Aamir were among the players whose family members went to America with them. According to another report, the extra expenses incurred by taking the family were definitely paid by the players but being with family members affects the focus of the players.
A report said that around 60 rooms were booked at the place where the team was staying to accommodate others travelling with the team. There was a family atmosphere there with takeaway dinners and outings being the norm for some of the players. Aamir even took his personal trainer at his own expense while the team has a foreign trainer, strength conditioning coach, physio and doctor.
