According to the news, according to the CGA, the total excise tax collection in 2018-19 stood at Rs 2.3 lakh crore. Out of this, Rs 35874 crore has been distributed to the states.
It was told in the news that there has been an increase in the collection of excise tax in 2018-19 as compared to the financial year 2017-18. In 2017-18, this collection was Rs 2.58 lakh crore, out of which Rs 71759 crore was distributed to the states.
