Jammu. The entire country has a railway network since before independence, but Jammu and Kashmir and especially the Kashmir valley were not connected to the rest of the country through railways. Trains used to go till Jammu. Then from Jammu one had to travel by car to Srinagar and other parts of Kashmir valley. Now soon trains are going to run till Kashmir valley. Indian Railways is going to show its power of running a train from Kanyakumari in the far south of the country to Srinagar in the extreme north. For this, the world’s highest railway arch bridge has been built on the Chenab river. The work of building this bridge was going on for a long time. This bridge, which is higher than the Eiffel Tower of Paris, has been completed and on Sunday, a successful trial was conducted by running an engine on it for the first time.
