Maharashtra Nav Nirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray has made it clear that his agitation will continue till the loudspeakers are removed. On Wednesday, he also raised questions on the action being taken against MNS workers. On Tuesday, Thackeray had appealed to Hindus to play Hanuman Chalisa through loudspeakers from mosques in the event of azaan. There is a police alert in many areas of the state.
According to news agency ANI, Thackeray said, “I say all illegal loudspeakers should be removed from mosques, we will continue our agitation till they are removed.” “We want peace in the state,” he said. What action are you (police) taking against 135 mosques which have violated the Supreme Court guidelines today. You are only taking action against our workers.
The MNS chief said, “It is not only about mosques, there are many temples where illegal loudspeakers are running. I have already made it clear that this is not a religious issue but a social issue.
Thackeray has announced the recitation of Hanuman Chalisa till all the loudspeakers are removed. “We will continue the Hanuman Chalisa outside the mosques at the time of azaan until the illegal loudspeakers are removed. I have to see what the court does if the government is not following the orders of the Supreme Court.
‘Hanuman Chalisa is not a matter of one day’
Thackeray has said that Hanuman Chalisa outside mosques is not a matter of a day. He said that this process will continue till the government resolves it as per the guidelines of the Supreme Court.
The state spoke of action against mosques
The state home department has said that there are a total of 1140 mosques in Mumbai. Of these, 135 have used loudspeakers before 6 am today. Appropriate action will be taken against 135 mosques which have gone against the order of the Supreme Court. The apex court had in July 2005 banned the use of loudspeakers in public places from 10 pm to 6 am.
