Just before the sixth round of voting, Hindu-Muslim has become a big issue in the elections. On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that Congress opposes the Ram temple, is against the Uniform Civil Code, because Congress wants to implement Muslim Personal Law (Sharia) in the country. In rallies in Himachal and Punjab, Modi accused the Congress of hatching the conspiracy to implement Sharia in the country. Modi said that the whole country is happy with the construction of Ram temple, the consecration of Ram Lalla, but Congress is sad, Congress is worried about its vote bank. Modi said that Congress is against CAA, is also opposing UCC, because it wants to implement Sharia in the country. Modi said his point in a soft manner, but Yogi Adityanath openly said that the intentions of Congress and its allies are dangerous, these people do not want to give reservation to Muslims only but also want to implement personal law in the country, people of Congress and Samajwadi Party want their daughters to go out of the house wearing burqa, but India will never let such conspiracies succeed. Voting was held in Azamgarh on Saturday, Dharmendra Yadav is the Samajwadi Party candidate. Dharmendra Yadav replied. He said what is wrong in giving reservation to Muslims? If the Parliament has accepted it, then how is it unconstitutional? Dharmendra Yadav said that BJP’s work is only to spread hatred, the real motive is to take advantage in the elections by making Hindus and Muslims fight. Union Minister Giriraj Singh replied to Dharmendra Yadav. He said that reservation in the name of religion is not allowed in the Constitution, Muslim reservation should now end from the entire country, this is an attack on Hindus. OBCs, Dalits and tribals should also understand the intention of the Indi Alliance and unite, otherwise these people will turn India into Pakistan.
NCP founder Sharad Pawar said that he had given reservation to Muslims in Maharashtra twenty years ago. RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav said that Modi, Amit Shah and Yogi keep talking about Muslims because they do not want to talk about inflation. In rallies in Bihar and Jharkhand, Home Minister Amit Shah said that Muslim reservation is at the top of the agenda of Congress and the parties involved in the INDI Alliance. The parties involved in this anti-Modi front are conspiring to snatch the reservation of Dalits, backward and tribals and give it to Muslims. Amit Shah said that Mamata Banerjee also tried this in Bengal but the High Court did not let her succeed. In response, Mamata said that BJP is deliberately talking about Hindu-Muslim in the elections because BJP is afraid of defeat, the Muslims who used to get reservation in Bengal will continue to get it. While addressing rallies in Mathurapur and Jaynagar in Bengal, Mamata Banerjee mentioned the High Court order at both places. Mamata said that summer vacations are going on in the court right now, as soon as the court opens, her government will challenge this order. Mamata Banerjee alleged that many judges are giving decisions under political influence but she will not let anyone snatch the rights of Muslims at any cost. Yogi explained why Sharad Pawar and the leaders of the Indi Alliance say such things. Yogi said that Congress and its allies used to do the work of Muslim appeasement silently earlier, but now they have started speaking openly. In the Maharajganj rally, Yogi said that the matter of Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh is old, but the case of West Bengal is fresh, in Bengal, Mamata government tried to give reservation to Muslims on the basis of religion but could not succeed due to the High Court.
Voting took place on 58 seats in 8 states in the sixth round on Saturday. Out of these 14 seats, BJP had won 13 out of these 14 seats in the last election. Akhilesh Yadav had won the Azamgarh seat but BJP had snatched this seat in the by-election. Nirahua had defeated Dharmendra Yadav. This time again there is a contest between the two. This time Samajwadi Party has tried to prevent division of Muslim votes in Azamgarh. In the last election, Guddu Jamali, who fought on Bahujan Samaj Party ticket, was taken along with them and in order to get Muslim votes, Dharmendra is now openly supporting Muslim reservation a day before polling. As far as Sharad Pawar’s statement is concerned, votes have been cast on all the seats in Maharashtra. Sharad Pawar remained silent till the time voting was going on but he knows that speaking now will not harm him in Maharashtra, but allies in other states may benefit. That is why now Sharad Pawar is also openly saying that he had given reservation to Muslims in Maharashtra 20 years ago. The same is the case with Mamata Banerjee. Out of the eight seats in Bengal where voting took place on Saturday, 5 seats were won by BJP in the last election. Mamata’s party had won only three seats. That is why a day before voting, Mamata again said on Friday that the reservation that Muslims used to get in Bengal will continue. She will go to the Supreme Court against the decision of the High Court. Now Mamata is trying to stop BJP in Bengal at any cost. The line in the dispute between Modi and Mamata in Bengal is very clear. Mamata talks about giving reservation to Muslims to keep her Muslim vote bank united. On the other hand, Modi and Yogi in Bengal are reminding Hindus of similar policies of Mamata. They talk about Mamata being irritated by the slogan “Jai Shri Ram”, reminding about the ban on immersion of Durga idols to allow the procession of Muharram tazias. (Rajat Sharma)
