Mumbai In Haryana, where the Congress lost to the BJP in the Rajya Sabha elections. At the same time, the ruling Shiv Sena in Maharashtra also suffered a major setback. Maharashtra had 6 Rajya Sabha seats. BJP won 3 of these seats. Whereas, Shiv Sena, Congress and NCP got 1 seat each. Shiv Sena’s Sanjay Pawar lost the election. This happened when Asaduddin Owaisi’s party AIMIM had announced to give the votes of its 2 MLAs to Mahavikas Aghadi. After the election results, it was found that BJP has got Union Ministers Piyush Goyal, Anil Bonde and Dhananjay Mahadik to win. At the same time, Praful Patel from NCP and Imran Pratapgarhi from Congress won the elections. Whereas, Sanjay Raut got victory from Shiv Sena.
Earlier, Shiv Sena had claimed that all its candidates would win and BJP would not be able to win its third seat. Whereas, BJP leader and former CM Devendra Fadnavis had claimed that all the three candidates of BJP will fight. Fadnavis fulfilled this claim by making a strategy. According to the maths of the assembly, BJP had votes to win 2 seats. At the same time, Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress were to win 1 seat each. Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress had claimed that they would defeat the third candidate of BJP, Dhananjay Mahadik, but in the end their candidate lost.

BJP leaders were seen celebrating after slamming Shiv Sena and Mahavikas Aghadi in the Rajya Sabha elections. Devendra Fadnavis said on this occasion that this is the victory of the people of the state and people have shown how there is resentment against the Aghadi government including Shiv Sena. He said that Shiv Sena and its allies will continue to face similar setbacks in the coming times.
