Keeping the dream of living in NCR, 1.18 lakh crore rupees of those who booked flats in Noida and Greater Noida areas are stuck with different builders. About 1.65 lakh houses were booked with this amount. Now the builders have almost hung this money. In the name of giving flats, they are constantly evasive. This is what property consultant Anarock has to say.
Anarock, in its research, included only those housing projects that were started in 2014 and earlier. These projects were started in Delhi, NCR, Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Pune.
The President of Forum of People’s Collective Eforts FPCE, which is the apex body of home buyers, has told PTI that this is a serious issue. There should be a quick inquiry into the delays in these projects and a solution to this problem should be found at the earliest. He has also demanded strict action against the defaulting builders.
According to the data revealed by the research of property consultant Anarock, about Rs 4,48,129 crore paid to builders for 4,79,940 houses in the seven cities mentioned above is badly stuck. These figures are as of 31 May 2020.
50 percent of these figures are from Delhi and NCR only. In Delhi NCR area, Rs 1,81,410 crore of 2,40,610 houses are stranded. In the data of ANAROCK, 70 per cent of it is from the Noida and Greater Noida region. In Noida and Greater Noida alone, Rs 1,18,578 crore of 1,65,348 houses are stranded.
At the same time, Gurugram has only 13 percent such cases and this city is in the best position in this matter. In Gurugram, 30,733 houses worth Rs 44,455 crore are hanging. While in Delhi, Faridabad, Dharuhera and Bhiwadi areas combined, Rs 9,124 crore of 22,401 houses are stranded.
