Realme Founder and CEO Sky Li has thanked the fans on the completion of 6 years of the company. Lee has issued a message to Realme users from his social media handle. In May 2018, Realme launched its first phone Realme 1 in India. As a sister company of Oppo, the company had entered the global market including India. After this the company did not look back and made its place among the top-5 smartphone brands of India. Due to its cheap and budget friendly smartphones, Realme has given a tough challenge to the already established brands like Redmi, Vivo, Samsung in the market.
The company sold crores of phones in 5 years
In a letter written for Realme fans, Sky Li said that the company has sold more than 100 million or 10 crore units of smartphones in India in the last 5 years. Last year in 2023, the company made its place in the top-5 by selling 17.4 million smartphones in India. Not only this, the company has recently changed its slogan “Dare to Leap” to “Make it Real”.
Along with budget-friendly smartphones, the company has also launched many mid-budget devices in India, which includes Realme GT series phones. Apart from this, users are also liking the company’s Narzo series smartphones. According to the data released by the company, Realme has registered a growth of 27 percent year-on-year in India. Not only this, the company has achieved 5 percent share in the mid-premium segment, which is a challenge for brands like OnePlus, Samsung, Xiaomi, Motorola.
Realme GT Neo 6 will be launched soon
On completion of 6 years of the brand, the company is soon going to launch another phone in the GT series in India. Sky Li has mentioned this in his letter. This Realme smartphone could be GT Neo 6 5G, which was recently spotted on the Indian certification website BIS. This Realme smartphone can be the first smartphone to be launched in India with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor. However, the company has not yet confirmed the launch date of this phone. It can be introduced in India in mid-May.
