Bangalore. Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday said that regional languages ​​will play an important role in revolutionizing the education system as guided by the National Policy on Education (NEP) 2020.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government has resolved to realize the dream of making India a knowledge-based superpower.

He said, the Center aspires to inculcate a culture of patriotism among the students during the celebration of 75 years of Independence (Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav). He said that in the last eight years, a total of 410 higher education institutions including six central universities, seven IIMs, 15 AIIMS have been established in the country.

The Minister said that the North-East region, which was kept neglected earlier, has also been given prominence in all development works including education and the Indus Central University has been established in Ladakh.

In addition, he said that the central government is focusing on developing India as a global manufacturing hub. He also appreciated that Karnataka has become an example for other states in the implementation of NEP-2020.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said that the government is emphasizing on three e-education, Employment and Empowerment (Education, Employment and Empowerment). He also said that a new employment policy has been formulated with emphasis on promoting self-employment and entrepreneurship.

Stating that the Union Government has given Rs 55 crore for Nripatunga University, the Chief Minister appreciated the efforts of the Higher Education Minister for playing a vital role since two years in implementing the NEP-2020.

In his inaugural address, Higher Education Minister C.N. Ashwath Narayan said that human resource is the biggest asset of the country and the bottom-up approach of NEP will pave the way for transforming future citizens into productive ones.

Narendra Modi had mentioned about the new education policy even before becoming the Prime Minister and introduced it after taking charge of the affairs. He said that it will prepare the students for industry by enabling them to acquire relevant skills.

In the last two years, the state government has established six universities and is in the process of setting up seven more. Narayan said that in the near future every district will have at least one university.

State Home Minister Araga Gyanendra said, “The Regional Forensic Science Laboratory (RFSL), Ballari, which has been set up recently, will serve the people of neighboring districts to provide speedy justice.”

He informed that 50 acres of land has been identified to facilitate the inauguration of the regional campus of National Forensic Science University (Gujarat). He also appealed to the Union Home Minister to facilitate setting up of his campus in the State at the earliest.

On the occasion, Regional Forensic Science Laboratory, Ballari and Smart E-Beat Police System were virtually launched. Apart from this, the foundation stone of the academic campus of Nripatunga University was laid and the logo of the university was also launched.
