More than 100 children who had come to attend the Bihar Divas program in Patna fell ill. According to the information, the condition of 15 is critical. His treatment is going on in Patna PMCH. Others are being held at the health camp at Gandhi Maidan. Children from many schools had come to participate in the three-day program. After his illness on Thursday, there was a stir in the administration.
Boys and girls were present here since the state’s 110th foundation day celebrations began on Tuesday and many of them complained of gastric on the morning of the last day. Patna Civil Surgeon Vibha Singh said, “Till afternoon, 156 children had complained of diarrhea and vomiting. However, most recovered after treatment at the Gandhi Maidan, where the ceremony has been held. The exact cause of his illness will be known only after investigation.”
Civil surgeon Vibha Singh also said, “The children are being properly treated. We assume there was some problem with the food. The District Magistrate has also formed a committee to investigate the matter.
However, the condition of a dozen students had worsened and they had to be taken to the biggest government hospital in Bihar, PMCH, where their condition was stated to be out of danger. PMCH superintendent IS Thakur said, “It appears to be a case of infection. It is not necessarily food poisoning. It can also happen by eating food with dirty hands.
The students said that this happened because of poor boarding facilities. They complained that the food served to them was not good and there was no cleanliness in the place where they were staying. Many also said that the toilets of the school where they were staying were not clean.
The issue was also raised by BJP member Sanjay Mayukh in the state legislative council. He said, “I was worried to know about so many children falling ill after being brought here for Bihar Day celebrations. I have demanded an inquiry and action against the officials responsible for the poor maintenance.”
