On Monday, 501 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Delhi and the infection rate stood at 7.72 percent. For the second day in a row, no patient died. Corona investigation of 6492 people was done on Monday. On Sunday, 517 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Delhi and the infection rate stood at 4.21 percent. A day before that i.e. on Saturday, 461 new cases of COVID-19 were reported and the infection rate had increased to 5.33 percent.
This information was obtained from the data shared by the Health Department of Delhi Government. Not a single patient died on Sunday. According to the data, 366 new cases of COVID-19 were reported on Friday, while the infection rate increased to 3.95 percent. Delhi has registered an increase in the number of Covid cases and infection rate in the last few days.
According to the department, a total of 1,188 patients of COVID in the city are in isolation at their homes. It said that there are 9,735 beds for COVID patients in Delhi hospitals and 51 (0.52 per cent) of them are still full. On Thursday, 325 new cases of infection were reported, while not a single patient died. At the same time, the infection rate was 2.39 percent. On Wednesday, 299 cases of COVID were reported and the infection rate was 2.49 percent.
Jain said: nothing to worry
Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain said on Monday that the number of cases of COVID-19 in the national capital is increasing continuously, but it is not a worrying situation as the rate of hospitalization of patients is low. Jain said that the government is monitoring the situation. He also underlined that it is necessary to wear a face mask, even if the penalty for not doing so has been withdrawn.
There will be an important meeting of the Delhi Disaster Management Authority on Wednesday in which it is expected to consider imposing a fine for not wearing a mask. Jain said that the number of infection cases is increasing in Delhi, but we have done 100 percent vaccination and a large number of people have already been infected with (corona). In addition, the hospitalization rate of the infected is low. Hence, it is not a worrying situation. We are keeping an eye on this.
