7th Pay Commission: The Karnataka government on Tuesday (April 5, 2022) has issued an order to increase the rates of Dearness Allowance (DA) payable to state government employees from the existing 24.50 per cent to 27.25 per cent with effect from January 1 this year.
According to the order of the state government, “The government is increasing the rates of dearness allowance payable to state government employees in the revised pay scale of 2018 from the existing 24.50 per cent to 27.25 per cent with effect from January 2022.”
Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai tweeted in this regard, “It has been decided to increase the DA of state government employees by 2.75 per cent (of basic pay) from January 1. For this, the government will bear the expenditure of Rs 1,447 crore annually.
By the way, before this decision of the state government, the central government had also announced an increase in the DA of its employees. According to the government notification issued on March 30, 2022, the amount of DA of those employees was increased by three percent. That is, the DA of these employees has been increased from 31 percent to 34 percent now.
