Four years after the mysterious death of a biker from Kerala in Rajasthan’s Jaisalmer, the police have arrested his wife for murder. Two people, allegedly friends of the couple, were arrested earlier in the case. Let us tell you that in the year 2018, international bike rider Asbak Mon was killed in the desert. The police first called it a normal death, but when the case reopened, Asbak’s wife and friend were accused of murder.
Biker Asbak Mon’s wife Sumera Parvez was arrested on Friday (May 13) from Bengaluru with the help of cyber cell. She was on the run since the murder of Asbak. After his arrest, he was produced in the court and sent on remand. Police is interrogating him in the matter. In the year 2018, Asbak along with his friends Sanjay, Vishwas and Abdul Sabir had flown from Bangalore to Jaisalmer to participate in a motorsports event.
The biker was killed during a practice in the desert on August 16, 2018, prior to the competition. It was initially said by the police that he had lost his way in the desert and died of water and hunger. After this death, his wife also did not express any doubt, due to which the police closed the case by registering a case under the provisions of CrPC.
However, later Asbak’s mother and brother, who hailed from Coonoor in Kerala, had accused him of conspiring in the biker’s death. The biker’s postmortem was said to have died of a neck injury. But on December 20, Jaisalmer Superintendent of Police Ajay Singh had registered a case of murder after finding several discrepancies in the incident related to the biker’s death.
Then a charge sheet was presented in the court against Sumera Parvez and Abdul Sabir under Section 299 of CrPC. After this several attempts were made to nab the accused but without any success. However, when a special team of cyber cell experts was formed by Jaisalmer SP Bhanwar Singh Nathawat, Sumaira Parvez, who was absconding for many years, was caught.
In this case Sanjay and Vishwas, friends of Asbak Mon, were arrested on September 22 last year from Bangalore in Jaisalmer for allegedly colluding with and executing the biker’s murder. He is currently in jail. In the case, it was also revealed on behalf of Asbak’s family that Sumaira had relations with another person and there was a dispute with Asbak over the property.
