On the day of Gudi Padwa in Maharashtra, Savarkar Memorial has appealed to install ‘Hindu Flag’ in homes. Gudi Padwa is the new year of Marathi society. The politics of Maharashtra has also heated up regarding this festival.
According to the information received, the work of saving the memories of Hindutva leader and freedom fighter VD Savarkar is done by Swatantryaveer Savarkar Memorial. This organization does the work of disseminating information related to Savarkar among the people. Now the same organization has appealed to hoist the Hindu flag.
In a statement, the organization said flags of various sizes are available at its offices located in Dadar, Mumbai and Pune. From there people can take these flags. On the other hand, BJP alleged that the government may ban public celebration of festivals like Gudi Padwa. BJP MLA Ashish Shelar on Tuesday took a jibe at the Uddhav Thackeray government for lack of clarity on the guidelines ahead of the upcoming festivals.
Section 144 has been imposed by Mumbai Police from March 10 to April 8. Gudi Padwa is on April 2, while Ram Navami will be celebrated on April 10. Speaking to reporters, BJP leader Ashish Shelar alleged that whenever it comes to Hindu festivals, “it seems that the chief minister’s hand gets paralyzed.”
He said- “Why is the government paralyzed during Hindu festivals? The reason given for imposing such restrictions ahead of festivals is that terrorists and anti-nationals can attempt attacks through drones, remote micro aircraft and paragliders. Law and order is the responsibility of the state but that does not mean that people cannot celebrate the festival. Curfew has been imposed in Mumbai just before Gudi Padwa and Ram Navami.
Objecting to Shelar’s remarks, Shiv Sena leader Manisha Kayande said Shelar’s mind has become paralyzed, as he wants to become the state BJP president. He warned Shelar that if he continues to make such remarks, Shiv Sena workers will not be able to bear it for long.
