A painful accident took place in Chakrata, Uttarakhand on Sunday. The accident happened around 10 am on Tuni Road, a remote area of Chakrata. The news of the death of 13 people has come to the fore in a serious road accident. Prime Minister Modi has announced compensation for those who died in the accident and the injured.According to information received from sources, the Bolero, which was going from Baila village of Bharam Khat of Chakrata to Vikasnagar, lost control on the Baila-Pingua road in front of the village on Sunday morning and fell into a 400 meter deep gorge. According to the information received, 15 people were in the car at this time, out of which 13 people died and two were seriously injured. The bodies of all the 13 dead were found from the pit.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that the families of those who lost their lives in the accident will be given ex-gratia of Rs. Police-administration team was present on the spot. Local people also engaged in relief work. As soon as the information was received, the relief team of SDRF, district police and fire brigade from Dehradun also reached the spot.Two people, including a six-year-old child, were seriously injured in the accident. As soon as the information of the incident was received, Baila, Bulhad, Asoi, Baghi and nearby villagers reached the spot and themselves carried out rescue operation and somehow pulled out the dead bodies trapped in 400 meters deep gorge and took the injured to Chakrata Hospital for treatment.
Mahendra Singh Chauhan, member of Baila Kshetra Panchayat said that the deceased have been identified as Matbar Singh (40), son Bhagat Singh, wife Rekha Devi (32) and one and a half year old daughter Tanvi Ratan Singh (45). Son Ratram, Jaipal Singh Chauhan (40) Son Bhav Singh, Anjali (15) Daughter Jaipal Singh Chauhan, Naresh Chauhan (35) Son Bhav Singh, Sadhram (55) Son Gulab Singh, Dan Singh (50) Son Ratu, Isha (18) Daughter Gajendra, Kajal ( 17) Daughter. Jagat Verma, resident of all Baila-Chakras, Jitu (35) resident of Kawanu-Maletha and Hariram Sharma (48), son of Sirmaur of Himachal, had become victims of the accident.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has also expressed deep sorrow over this entire incident. He prayed to God that the soul of the deceased rest in peace and the family get strength to bear this loss. The Chief Minister has directed the district administration to expedite the relief and rescue work and provide immediate treatment to the injured.
SDM Chakrata Saurabh Aswal said that the revenue team of Chakrata and Tuni tehsil has reached the spot to inform about the accident. Dehradun DM Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar said that SDM and ADM reached the spot. A team of doctors from Dehradun has also reached the spot.
