Traders suffered losses due to late ban last year
In view of the pollution situation in the national capital of India, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has announced a ban on the collection, sale and use of all types of firecrackers. Arvind Kejriwal tweeted that this year also there is a ban on firecrackers on Diwali, so that people’s lives can be saved due to pollution.
CM Arvind Kejriwal tweeted that in view of the dangerous pollution situation in Delhi during Diwali for the last 3 years, this time also there has been a complete ban on the collection, sale and use of all types of firecrackers. So that people’s lives can be saved. The Chief Minister said, “Last year, after the collection of firecrackers by traders, the complete ban was imposed late in view of the seriousness of pollution, causing huge losses to the traders. It is an appeal to all traders not to do any kind of stock this time in view of the complete ban.
Last month, the Supreme Court had completely refused to interfere with the NGT order banning firecrackers. The court said that it has been clarified in the NGT order that the sale and operation of firecrackers will be banned in those areas where the air quality is poor. Areas where air quality is good may be allowed. The apex court had dismissed the petition filed against the NGT order.
