Court worried about the increasing number of vehicles due to low cost of vehicles
The Bombay High Court of Maharashtra has given an important decision while hearing a public interest litigation. This decision of the court is very important for all the people living in the flat. The court, while hearing the petition, ordered the authorities that the people living in the flat who have more than one vehicle and do not have parking space, all those people will not be allowed to keep more than one vehicle.
The High Court’s panel comprising Chief Justice Dipankar Duttar and Justice GS Kulkarni ordered the officers that if someone has taken only one flat and the colony or society does not have proper amount of space to park the vehicles, then they should keep more vehicles. should not be allowed. In this regard, a public interest litigation was filed by Sandeep Thakur, a resident of Navi Mumbai.
The petition was filed by Sandeep challenging a government order amending the Integrated Development Control and Promotion Regulatory Act, asking developers to reduce parking space for flats and buildings. Thakur said that the developers do not provide full parking space in the new buildings, due to which many people living in the colony and society have to park their vehicles outside. The High Court said that whoever is taking a new flat, he will have to take the car after seeing whether there is a place to park the car or not.
The court said that at present, due to the increasing number of vehicles on the roads, 30 percent of the road on both sides of the road is always surrounded by vehicles. This is quite a common practice, so asking for more space for parking in this way is not right.
