Red alert declared in 11 districts of Madhya Pradesh and Orange alert in 10 districts of Rajasthan
Heavy rains lashed parts of the capital’s Indira Gandhi International Airport since early Saturday. The local people are facing problems due to the torrential rains since Friday night. The Indian Meteorological Department has issued an ‘Orange Alert’ for today. This is the first time since 2010 that the rainfall in Delhi has crossed 1000 mm. This time Delhi has received the highest rainfall in 11 years.
Sources close to the Delhi airport said that some parts of the airport were flooded at 7.45 am. However, the airport authority disposed of the water within 30 minutes. The special thing is that the drainage system of the airport is quite good. After some time the water came out. It has been raining in Delhi since late night and due to heavy rains, many areas of Delhi and NCR are facing the problem of water logging. The Meteorological Department has forecast moderate to moderate rain in Delhi, Greater Noida, Gurugram and adjoining areas today.

Heavy to very heavy rain is expected in Delhi-NCR for the next three days. It has been raining heavily in the country since Friday night. Due to this, some areas of Delhi, Noida, Gurugram and Ghaziabad have been flooded and the local people are also facing a lot of problems. On Saturday morning, the temperature dropped due to heavy rains and the minimum temperature was recorded at 24 degrees. This information was given by an official of the Indian Meteorological Department. According to the Safdarjung Observatory, the minimum temperature was recorded at 24 degrees Celsius, two notches below normal, while the relative humidity was recorded at 100 per cent at 8.30 am.
According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rains in Uttarakhand during the next five days. Heavy rain is also likely in Himachal Pradesh and West Uttar Pradesh on August 21. Good rains are likely over Haryana, Chandigarh, Punjab and East Rajasthan for the next two days. However, red alert has been declared in 11 districts of Madhya Pradesh and yellow alert has been declared in 10 districts of Rajasthan.
