Bulldozers reached Himmatnagar in Gujarat on Tuesday morning to clear the encroachment. Violence took place on the occasion of Ram Navami 15 days ago at the same place where the bulldozer reached to demolish the illegal construction. Fearing the administration, the local people started demolishing the building themselves before the bulldozers arrived. The local people had received information about the action against the encroachment on Monday.
According to a report in India Today, officials said that illegal shops and other buildings are being demolished in the area to widen the roads. Rath Yatra was organized on the occasion of Ram Navami on 10 April in Himmatnagar area of Sabarkantha, Gujarat. However, a clash broke out between the two groups, leading to stone pelting and arson. Officials said that more than 10 police personnel were injured in the violence. The violence was brought under control using tear gas shells.
