Cybercriminals in the country are continuously cheating people by making lakhs of them. In a similar case, Gujarat Police has arrested a 25-year-old man from Jharkhand for duping him of Rs 40 lakh. Gujarat Police has taken him into custody from Jharkhand Police in 35 cases of cyber fraud.
Giving information in the matter, the police said that the accused has been identified as Sajjad Ansari, a resident of Nagdari village in Deoghar district of Jharkhand. During interrogation, Ansari said that he was interested in joining the army. However, for some time now, he came in contact with some people of his village who were making good money by making fake phone calls to unknown people.
During the year 2018, Sajjad Ansari also joined them. Then cheated many foreigners by promising fake loans. Subsequently, Sajjad Ansari posed as an army officer and duped many Indian citizens with their debit and credit card details. Sajjad Ansari has cheated many people in the name of getting loans on fake basis.
Police officer in the case said that accused Sajjad Ansari has cheated more than 35 people in almost a year. The fraudster Sajjad had in most cases portrayed himself as an officer of the Indian Army or sometimes the CRPF. Police said that Sajjad Ansari has cheated about 35 people in Gujarat worth about 40 lakh rupees.
Jharkhand Police arrested Sajjad Ansari on March 10, after which he has now been handed over to Ahmedabad Police. The involvement of accused Sajjad Ansari in two cyber fraud cases has been confirmed so far. In which a case has been registered against him by Ramol and Kalupur police. While the involvement of Sajjad Ansari in 33 other cases has not been confirmed yet.
