It is said about Bihar that if you want to understand about its politics and geographical background, then first you have to understand the Bahubalis. Ashok Samrat was also a name among the Bahubalis like Surajbhan Singh, Anant Singh, Anand Mohan, Munna Shukla. Which terrified Bihar with its terror. It is believed that Ashoka’s voice used to speak till Gorakhpur in UP including Bihar.
Ashoka Emperor of Bihar is the name who first adopted a weapon like AK-47 in the crime world of the state. Ashok Samrat, born in Begusarai, started using lethal weapons in incidents in the 90s. Ashok Samrat had such weapons which the officers of Bihar Police had not even seen at that time. Using them to apprehend criminals was far-fetched.
The work of Ashoka Emperor in Bihar was to give protection to the leaders and big businessmen. In this war of supremacy, Ashok had a direct fight with Bahubali Surajbhan Singh. It was said that Ashok Samrat got the AK-47 seized from the terrorists by jugaad to spread fear. However, this could never be confirmed. During that time, Gupteshwar, who was the DGP of Bihar in 1993, was the SP of Begusarai.
Gupteshwar Pandey had recovered AK-47 from Ashok Samrat gang at that time and AK-56 from Surajbhan Singh’s house. In an interview, Gupteshwar Pandey tells that Ashoka Emperor was running his own separate government in Bihar at that time and he had no fear of law. During his captaincy, in 1993-94, 42 encounters took place in Begusarai, in which the same number of people were killed.
According to Gupteshwar Pandey, Ashok had killed many people with AK-47 during that period. It is said that Ashoka had the power to do all this because of the patronage of his political masters. At the time of elections in Bihar, he used to be the main worker of Bahubali political parties. Who used to increase the counting of votes in favor of the parties with their fear and panic.
The influence of Ashoka emperor was considered in many areas like Begusarai, Mokama, Vaishali, Lakhisarai. After the arrival of Lalu Yadav’s government, people at one time felt that Ashoka Emperor would also establish his status by becoming a white collar honorable but he was killed in an encounter. The encounter of this dreaded Bahubali of Bihar was done by the brave police officer Shashibhushan Sharma.
On January 5, 1995, the police received information that Ashok Samrat was about to be involved in a railway contract. The information turned out to be correct and at 1 pm it was found that Ashoka Emperor was present there. When the police tried to nab, retaliatory firing started and the criminals fled in vehicles.
The counter-fight which started at 1 pm started intermittently and the firing stopped at 4 pm. When the police started a search operation, the death of Ashok Samrat was confirmed. A huge amount of bullets including AK-47 were recovered from him and the fear of Ashoka Emperor, who was called the second name of terror, stopped there.
