According to sources, Delhi Police is also probing the protest organized by Social Democratic Party of India at Jantar Mantar on the day Jahangirpuri violence broke out.
Delhi Police has also registered a case against members of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal Delhi for taking out a procession in Jahangirpuri area without permission. Police have registered a case against VHP leader Prem Sharma. It is alleged that Prem Sharma took out the procession without permission.
At the same time, VHP national spokesperson Vinod Bansal has issued a statement after the police registered a case against the members of VHP and Bajrang Dal. Terming the case against VHP members as false, he said, “Impling VHP or its workers in false cases will only tarnish the image of the police.”
Police is gathering more information about Ansar, the main accused in the violence case. It is being told that Ansar has an ancestral house in Haldia, West Bengal. Police is now doing background check of Ansar and he has also contacted West Bengal Police in this matter.
