Four terrorist associates of Lashkar-e-Taiba were arrested on Sunday (April 3) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Bandipora district, where security forces busted two terror modules. These terrorist associates were providing logistics and transportation to the terrorists in the adjoining districts. Weapons and incriminating material have also been recovered from them by the police.
Giving information about the matter, Bandipora police said that on the basis of a specific information, security forces have arrested Irfan Ahmed Bhat, Sajjad Ahmed Mir and Irfan Ahmed Jan from Ashtango village of Bandipora. A Chinese grenade has also been recovered from these terrorist associates. According to the police, all these terrorists were working under the associate module. Whose job is to provide all kinds of help to the terrorists at the local level.
Also during checking at a checkpost in Rakh Hajin area of Bandipora district, security forces arrested a terrorist associate, Irfan Aziz and a Chinese grenade has been recovered from his possession. Police sources said that a terrorist assistant named Irfan Aziz was in touch with terrorist Umar Lala in Pakistan across the border. Irfan Aziz’s past roles will be probed and questioned.
Police sources said on Irfan’s arrest that “he was planning to carry out terrorist incidents in Hajin area with his Pak based terrorist Umar Lala. However, in both these cases, the Bandipora and Hajin police stations have taken cognizance of the crime. The arrest of Irfan Ahmed Bhat, Sajjad Ahmed Mir and Irfan Ahmed Jan and Irfan Aziz from Rakh Hajin from Ashtango village is considered a big success.
It is to be known that recently there was an encounter in Rainawari area of Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, in which two terrorists were killed. In this encounter, the police and CRPF team took action together. In this regard, IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar had told that these Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists, who were killed in the Srinagar encounter, were involved in many recent terrorist crimes including civilian killings.
