A saint has announced a Hindu task force on Monday (April 11) in Mangaluru, Karnataka to stop love jihad. The saint says that the main objective of creating this task force is to stop love jihad and ‘protect Hindu identity’.
The saint who announced the formation of the task force, Sri Rajashekarananda Swamiji, is from Vajradhei Math in Mangaluru. He said, “The task force has been constituted because there have been cases of people from other communities having sex with Hindu girls. In this way the life and education of our (Hindu) girls are being adversely affected. Most of the girls have to drop out because of ‘love jihad’.”
Reacting to the formation of the organisation, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said that his government will not tolerate people taking law into their own hands. He told reporters in Udupi, “Our government is formed according to the Constitution. We are working in the spirit of law, order and equality. There is no problem in spreading their views, but if someone takes law into their own hands or commits violence, the government will not tolerate. This message has been sent very clearly. Our government is working according to the law and it is our duty to protect the law.”
He said, “There are laws to deal with everything. Some of these laws were passed by previous governments. We are not making any new rules.” At the same time, the CM, while responding to the allegations of the opposition, said that he (the previous government) was silent even after seeing the increased communal tension in the state.
He further questioned and said, “We know what decisions should be taken and at what time what action should be taken. I don’t need to learn any lesson from them. These are the people who closed the ongoing cases against people facing murder charges. Where was his duty consciousness then?”
He added, “During Siddaramaiah’s rule, many Hindu activists were killed. They have withdrawn cases against those who killed Hindu workers. Did Siddaramaiah lose his mental balance then?”
