The government also started efforts towards the return of Pandits.
Even today, the Kashmiri Pandits who have been separated from their soil are suffering from the sting of pro-Pakistan terrorism. Even after 3 decades, he remembers the agony of the tortures that went on at that time. The grief of losing his siblings, parents, children and his close ones is clearly visible on his face. But with the removal of Article 370, new hope has arisen in them. Hopefully they will be able to return to their homes again. Once again the valley will be buoyed by the return of the Pandits. Again they will be able to perform rituals on the banks of the Vitasta (ancient name of river Jhelum) during Mahashivratri.
In this regard, the government has also started efforts towards the return of Pandits. The registration of Pandits who want to return home has started. The land has been selected for the transit camp. Recruitment is being done for employment under the PM package. Efforts are also being made to release the lands occupied by Kashmiri Pandits in the Valley.
Let us tell you that the central government had approved 6,000 transit accommodation and 6,000 jobs under the Prime Minister’s package in 2015. An amount of Rs 920 crore was sanctioned for this. Apart from this, the tourism department has also started efforts to improve the condition of other Hindu temples including the Hanuman temple in Srinagar.
