Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya said after taking oath on Friday that the Bharatiya Janata Party is aiming to win more than 75 out of 80 seats in Uttar Pradesh in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. He was a candidate from Sirathu in the assembly elections and had to face defeat from here. Even after this, he was made Deputy CM.
Keshav Prasad Maurya said, “Lok Kalyan Sankalp Patra (manifesto) is our roadmap. We will work accordingly. Going forward our target is 75+ seats in 2024 (Lok Sabha elections). He further said that the Yogi Adityanath-led BJP government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi will continue to work for the welfare of the poor.
In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP had won 62 out of 80 seats. Yogi Adityanath was administered the oath of office by Governor Anandiben Patel at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee International Cricket Stadium on Friday. During this, more than 50 thousand people were present here.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and several Union ministers were present in the grand ceremony in Lucknow. Chief ministers of BJP-ruled states and party leaders also attended the swearing-in ceremony. During this, a total of 52 ministers, including two deputy chief ministers, took oath as ministers.
Apart from Keshav Prasad Maurya, Brajesh Pathak took oath as the Deputy Chief Minister of the state. In the 2022 assembly elections, BJP retained power in Uttar Pradesh by winning 255 seats out of 403 and securing 41.29 per cent vote share. The BJP has created a record in Uttar Pradesh with victory for the second time in a row. This is the first time that a party has returned to power after 37 years winning the elections for the second time in a row.
