Security arrangements made by the police, around 280 years old coins
Incessant rains have caused floods in many places in Madhya Pradesh. More than 600 buildings have been submerged due to the rain. More than 1,200 people have become homeless. Meanwhile, on Sunday, news of silver coins being found from Sindh river in Panchawali village of Shivpuri district has come to the fore. As soon as this news spread in the village, all the villagers came running to collect the coins.
Despite the high flow of water in the Indus River, the villagers risked their lives to find coins from the river. The coins found by the villagers are about 280 years old. That is, these coins are from the 18th century. Many coins also bear the imprint of British Queen Victoria. The East India Company coin has 1840 inscribed on it. The villagers were happy considering this coin as a treasure. However, it is not yet known from where so many coins came in the river. The coins are being checked by the local police. Initially everyone got 1-2 coins after which many people got 7-8 coins.
On hearing the news of silver coins being found in the river, crowds of people started gathering in the whole village. Police force had to be deployed to bring the situation under control. People were looking for coins even after forgetting the rising level of river water. Many people believe that these silver coins must have been hidden in some house, but they all came out in the flood caused by rain.
