In Madhya Pradesh these days, BJP leaders are seen fighting among themselves over liquor shops. Recently, the Shivraj government has made liquor cheap in the state, which is being criticized. Now senior BJP leader Uma Bharti has opened a front to close the liquor shops. On Sunday, Uma Bharti started pelting stones to get a shop closed. On this act of BJP leader, social media users are seen taunting him.
Former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Uma Bharti has been demanding prohibition in the state and announced that she would hold a protest outside liquor shops. Last year, she announced that she would ban alcohol in the state by January 15, however, the government announced a new excise policy just two days after her deadline, making alcohol cheaper.
After this, Uma Bharti took to the streets in Bhopal on Sunday to protest against the prohibition of liquor. While demonstrating, she entered a liquor shop and threw stones from the road. The video of this incident is becoming increasingly viral on social media. Users can be seen commenting fiercely on this video.
Criticizing this move of Uma Bharti, a user named Rajneesh (@RajnishSarcaik) said- “Why don’t you stone the government giving licenses to liquor contracts. Under the rules your government gets the contracts opened and they throw stones to run their agenda…they are prosecuted…but why should anyone? My country is not changing at all… the drama is on”.
At the same time, a user named Javed (@KhanAhmadJaved) wrote – “This is a criminal act. The shop opens with a government license. Can even a common man throw such stones? Then there will be arrest. The government should stop this. Whoever wants to speak, speak to the government. It’s from his party, isn’t it? Then why all this pretense”?
Sunder Garg (@AgarwalJiSpeaks) wrote- “It is their government in Madhya Pradesh, it is their government at the Center too, so why are they sabotaging it? Demand from your governments, why this spectacle?
