What is LAC dispute? The tension along the LAC began when Chinese troops had set up their tents and other heavy equipment several kilometers inside the Indian border. In view of this unexpected move of China, the Indian Army deployed thousands of soldiers along the border in Ladakh and started accumulating additional weapons there. This tension had turned into a scuffle and violent clashes in the Galwan Valley in June 2020. Many soldiers on both sides were killed in this clash. Several rounds of talks took place between the representatives of the two countries after the clash in Galwan Valley. The process of disengagement was started in February 2021 after the meeting of the foreign ministers of both the countries agreed.
