The Allahabad High Court has issued a non-bailable warrant against Noida CEO Ritu Maheshwari after she failed to appear in court in a contempt case. The High Court has ordered the CEO to be produced in the court by taking him into police custody. Apart from this, the court has given the responsibility of getting the order compliance to the CJM of Gautam Budh Nagar. The next hearing in this matter will be held on May 13.
The High Court said that there is sufficient ground for issuing a non-bailable warrant against the CEO of Noida. The court has ordered that on May 13, the police will take Ritu Maheshwari into custody and present it before the court. Justice Saral Srivastava has given this order on the contempt petition of Manorama Kuchhal.
The court expressed displeasure over the absence of Ritu Maheshwari. The Court observed, “The court had directed to appear at 10 am, but, they chose such a flight which would take off from Delhi at 10:30 am. Will the court now run with the will of the CEO? Will the court run according to their convenience?
In its order dated 28 April, the High Court had ordered Ritu Maheshwari to appear on 4 May. But she did not appear in court that day. His lawyer told the court during the hearing that Ritu Maheshwari was coming by flight. His flight will take off from Delhi at 10:30. To this the court objected and said that he should have appeared at 10:00. The court said that it comes under the purview of contempt.
