Ahead of the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, several smaller parties had parted ways with Akhilesh Yadav, claiming to overthrow the ruling Yogi government and bring back the Samajwadi Party in the state. At that time it seemed that it would not be possible for the Yogi government to come back to power. Many ministers had also joined the Samajwadi Party by breaking ties with the government, but in the election, the public gave an opportunity to the BJP to form the government again by giving it an absolute majority. Due to this, the split between the smaller parties who parted ways with the Samajwadi Party by separating from the government is clearly visible. The meeting started at 5 pm and ended at around 7 pm. In this, along with reviewing the defeat, it was discussed to live together in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Apart from this, it was also considered to surround the government regarding poverty, unemployment, farmers’ problems and inflation.
Senior leader Shivpal Singh Yadav did not reach the review meeting of the allies on Tuesday. They were not informed on time. Many other leaders of the coalition were also not invited to attend this meeting. Apart from Akhilesh Yadav, Rajpal Balyan of Rashtriya Lok Dal, Omprakash Rajbhar of Subhasp and National General Secretary Pankaj Patel from Apna Dal (Communist) attended the meeting.
The Mahan Dal and their leader Keshav Dev Maurya were also not invited to the meeting. However, his party has not got a single seat. Keshav Dev Maurya said in the media that he has no displeasure for not calling his party. No candidate of his party could win. He said that he has full faith in Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav.
On the other hand, Omprakash Rajbhar, leader of Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party attended the meeting. He was specially invited in a letter sent by Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav. Progressive Samajwadi Party leader Shivpal Singh Yadav’s absence in the meeting is believed to be his displeasure.
Actually, two days before this meeting, there was a meeting of the legislators of the Samajwadi Party, in which the leader of the party was to be elected. Shivpal was not invited to that meeting. Shivpal Singh Yadav said that he contested the election on the symbol of Samajwadi Party and won, so he should have been called, but the party did not ask him. This has angered them. It is also feared that now he may again separate from the Samajwadi Party and take a new path.
