Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray, during a program on Saturday, targeted NCP chief Sharad Pawar, saying that NCP does politics of casteism. Raj Thackeray had also demanded that the government should hurt the loudspeakers at the mosques at the earliest or else his people would put loudspeakers in front of the mosque and play Hanuman Chalisa. NCP supremo Sharad Pawar has commented on Raj Thackeray’s allegation.
On Raj Thackeray’s allegations, Sharad Pawar said, “Raj Thackeray talks about Nationalist Congress Party and caste politics, whereas the reality is that other leaders including Chhagan Bhujbal and Pichad acted as leaders of the party in the House. And everyone knows which caste he comes from. Raj Thackeray stays asleep for three-four months and suddenly comes to deliver a speech. I don’t know what he does for so many months and that is his specialty.”
On the question of familyism, Sharad Pawar said that Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and his nephew Ajit Pawar became the leader of the house after completing 30 years in the assembly. He said that NCP has worked to unite all castes and Raj Thackeray should read the history of NCP.
What did Raj Thackeray say?: Targeting Sharad Pawar, Raj Thackeray had said, “Sharad Pawar has promoted casteism. The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) works to divide the people on the basis of caste in the state. How will we become a Hindu if we don’t come out of casteist politics.” Raj Thackeray warned the state government that loudspeakers should be removed from all mosques and if the government does not do so, then their people will put loudspeakers in front of the mosques and play Hanuman Chalisa on it.
On Raj Thackeray’s statement, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut said that everyone thought Raj Thackeray’s program was of BJP. Sanjay Raut asked that in how many BJP-ruled states the azaan has stopped or the loudspeaker has been removed from the mosque?
