Hyderabad, July 18 (IANS)| Telangana’s Tribal, Women and Child Welfare Minister Satyavati Rathod has come forward to help a farmer after his two lakh rupees saved for stomach surgery were eaten by rats. The minister on Sunday assured farmer Redya Naik that he would arrange his surgery in any hospital he liked and would also provide him financial assistance.
He announced the help, reacting to the vegetable farmer’s report of tragic loss. He deputed the Divisional Revenue Officer to meet the farmer and console him. Minister Said that the farmer need not get disheartened by the loss of money or his illness, as all possible help will be given to him.
The farmer of Vemunur village in Mahabubabad district lost his hard earned money to rodents. He got worried after seeing the condition of the notes kept in the cupboard of his house bitten by rats. redya Naik had kept the money for his stomach surgery. He needed Rs 4 lakh for surgery to remove the lump from the stomach. With some savings and loans taken from relatives and friends, he kept the cash in the cupboard.
On Tuesday, when he wanted to deposit money at the hospital, he opened the cupboard, but was shocked to see Rs 500 notes cut. vegetables “When I opened the almirah and took out the bag, I was shocked, as the notes were scattered,” said Redya Naik, who grows and sells them on his two-wheeler.
He approached several banks in Mahbubabad with requests to replace the cut notes with new ones, but officials clarified that this was not possible.
