Expressway part of Union Road and Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari’s dream project, NHAI officials are not ready to say anything about this
On hearing the name of government work, the matter of corruption and poor quality comes in everyone’s mind. Recently a news has come out which has given more strength to this thinking. In fact, the quality pole of Meerut-Delhi Expressway built at a cost of Rs 8346 crore got exposed in the monsoon rains. Soil has been washed away at places on the 90 km long highway. Roads have also been broken in between. The expressway is part of the dream project of Union Road and Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari.
Let us tell you that the officials of NHAI are not ready to say anything about this. The condition of the road on Meerut-Delhi Expressway is dilapidated everywhere. The roads from Meerut to Delhi are either damaged or washed away from time to time. It is worth noting that in the rain everything breaks down under the pressure of the flow of water. Most of the cement drains on the expressway have been washed away due to cracks in the soil. Recognized as a unique example of modernity, all the flaws of this expressway have been exposed in this rain. Seasonal rains have raised questions on the quality of express vans made of hi-tech machines.
Let us tell you that the employees of GR Infra are now engaged in the repair of the expressway so that there is no further damage to the expressway. There is a road lane at two places near the toll plaza at Partapur which has been completely damaged. In both the places, several meters long road descends about five feet. Due to this the wires on the expressway were also broken. The railing is also damaged. Both these places were flooded with rain water. Due to which there were cracks in the soil on the side of the highway. Also the road is broken.
Now the soil beside the expressway is being filled with JCB. The reason for the collapse of the roads and ditch on the expressway is being told that the ground below is hollow. Also, due to the hollow land, the road was also broken. The same is the case with the cry. Five to seven feet of mud and dilapidated road can be seen clearly at every short distance on this expressway. Barricading has been done at these places to prevent any mishap.
