Rakesh Tikait, national spokesperson of Bharatiya Kisan Union has said that the government is making a big conspiracy to prosecute the farmers. He said that there is a need for a big movement in the country. Whether that movement was on unemployment or on inflation, it will be known in the future. He said that in the meeting of SKM (United Kisan Morcha) to be held in Lakhimpur Kheri, all things will be discussed.
Tikait said that no decision has been taken on the MSP yet. The government has asked for the names of the committee but we have asked some questions to the government. As soon as we get the answers to those questions, we will tell the names of the committee within a week. He said that the farmer would take his rights. If there is a need for another movement, the farmers across the country will not back down even an inch.
On the loudspeaker controversy, the farmer leader said that the loudspeaker should be switched off on the basis of sound, not on religious grounds. Tikait said that wherever the loudspeaker makes sound, it should be stopped on the basis of spreading noise pollution and not on religious grounds. During a conversation with a news channel, he said that the only thing that is being worked on in the country is how to get votes.
On the power crisis, he said that the government and the power companies are united. He said that four-five months ago the rate of coal was Rs 8,000 per tonne. Today it is 18 thousand rupees. Tikait said that the coal mines have to be given to Adani, so a conspiracy is being hatched on how to give the mines to Adani by showing the crisis of coal and electricity.
Tikait said that the farmers have not yet got cheap electricity. After the farmers’ agitation, there has been talk of halving the rate of agriculture electricity in Uttar Pradesh, but there has been a cut in the power supply. Electricity is not available continuously.
