Ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) has started a new campaign named ‘India Wants Mamta Di’. This campaign has been started on the lines of ‘Bangla Nijer Meyke Chai’ (Bengal Wants Its Own Daughter) promotion launched during the 2021 state assembly elections.
The aim of this campaign is to try to make Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee the first Bengali Prime Minister of India in 2024. This will be the time when Mamta Banerjee will complete four decades in politics. With the slogan ‘India Wants Mamata Di’, TMC is now taking this campaign forward digitally. TMC hopes that the party will now connect with people across the country and promote its achievements across the country.
TMC launched website: TMC has also launched a website called Indiawantsmamatadi.com to give impetus to this campaign. It is written on this website that the party will soon run its campaign across the country and will spread the thoughts of Mamta Banerjee to the whole country. The newly launched website states, “We want every Indian to have good governance, as established by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee through her pro-people policies. When Mamata Banerjee completes 40 years of her political career, she wants to take this policy to the entire country by making her the first Bengali Prime Minister of India in 2024.
TMC wants to expand the party: In the first line of TMC’s campaign, it is written that now there will be a government of mother-mati and manush in Delhi. On the official website of the campaign, TMC wrote that ‘India Wants Mamta Di’ community is growing day by day and new members are joining voluntarily. The party claims to have thousands of members in every nook and corner of West Bengal, Tripura and Tamil Nadu. The next step of TMC is to expand the units of the party across India by carrying forward the ideals of Mamata Banerjee.
Mamta Banerjee wrote a letter to PM Modi: Recently, CM Mamta Banerjee wrote a letter to PM Narendra Modi complaining about West Bengal not getting funds for MNREGA and PM Awas Yojana. Mamta Banerjee said in the letter that the central government is not releasing funds to West Bengal under MGNREGA and PM Awas Yojana. He requested PM Modi to immediately intervene in this matter and issue an order for immediate release of funds to the concerned department.
