Rashtriya Lok Dal’s Uttar Pradesh unit president Masood Ahmed has resigned alleging that party tickets were sold in the assembly elections. Jayant Choudhary In a letter written on Saturday, Masood also accused the SP and RLD coalition leadership of adopting a dictatorial attitude.
Masood made serious allegations against SP President Akhilesh Yadav and said that he gave tickets by taking money at will, which forced the alliance to contest elections without booth presidents. Masood accused Jayant and the SP President of acting like a dictator and said that Swami Prasad Maurya was sent to Fazilnagar without information. He lost the election. He wrote suggesting that this alliance should be postponed until Akhilesh gives equal respect.
He alleged that due to the greed of money, the announcement of candidates was not done in time and elections were fought without preparation. All the seats were filled on almost the last day. No candidate was told who would contest from where. The workers were lying at the feet of you and Akhilesh ji. There was no preparation for the election.
Masood wrote that even after warnings, today Samaj Party President Chandrashekhar Ravana was humiliated, due to which the Dalit vote was cut from the SP-RLD alliance and went to the BJP. The alliance had to bear the brunt of this. Accusing Jayant and SP President Akhilesh, he has said in the letter that you and Akhilesh have sidelined the organization by adopting supremo culture. Lalu Yadav and SP leaders were not used in the election campaign.
Masood also told the letter as his resignation and said that the ticket was changed three times on the last day of filling the form for seats like Jaunpur Sadar. There were three SP candidates on one seat each. This sent a wrong message to the public. As a result, the alliance lost in at least 50 seats by a margin of 200 to 10,000 votes. However, analysts are of the opinion that after the defeat such a ruckus was certain. Samajwadi Party got 111 seats and Rashtriya Lok Dal got only eight seats in the election. The Rashtriya Lok Dal, which was considered effective in Jatland, could not get much success in Paschimchal.
