Cinema hall owners had offered to end the weekly bandh for a long time
Lucknow, Aug 20 (IANS) | The Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh has completely lifted the weekly curfew on Sunday. This has been done in view of the decreasing cases of Kovid in the state.
Several women’s organizations had urged the Chief Minister to lift the curfew on Sunday in view of Raksha Bandhan on August 22. Cinema hall owners were also asking the state government to end the weekly bandh as it was affecting the cinema business. A government spokesperson said the markets would now follow their earlier weekly shutdown on scheduled days.
