The ongoing dispute between TMC and BJP in West Bengal seems to be deepening day by day. The Mamta government, which seems to be clashing with the Center since the time of the assembly elections, has now gone a step further. Actually, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee’s nephew and TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee has been summoned by the ED to Delhi in the coal scam case, now the officers who are investigating these cases have been summoned by the Kolkata Police.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has summoned Trinamool Congress national secretary Abhishek Banerjee and his wife Rujira Banerjee to Delhi in connection with the alleged coal scam case on March 21 and 22. Apart from this, the central probe agency has also summoned West Bengal minister Moloy Ghatak in the coal scam case, while the CBI has summoned TMC’s Birbhum district chief Anubrata Mandal.
Regarding calling Abhishek Banerjee to Delhi, TMC has said that the BJP government sitting at the center is taking vengeance from the state government for losing the elections. Modi government is misusing central agencies. Now it is reported that Abhishek Banerjee has left for Delhi for this interrogation. Meanwhile, now the Mamta government has started surrounding the ED itself.
According to the information received, Kalighat police has summoned three ED officers. These officers are investigating the case of coal scam and cattle smuggling. They have been called on Monday. Action has been taken against them under section 160.
The summoning of ED officials by Kolkata Police is being seen as a counterattack to the Mamata government. It is believed that angry over the invitation of Abhishek Banerjee to Delhi by the ED, the Mamta government has decided to tighten the noose on the ED officials. However, till now no response has come from the BJP regarding this matter.
