During Navratri, controversy has erupted in some places including Delhi and UP regarding the meat ban. Meanwhile, on Tuesday (April 5, 2022) in a TV debate show, political analyst Acharya Pramod Krishnam started demanding a ban on meat, fish and eggs from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson Sambit Patra. Actually, this incident is related to Hindi news channel Aaj Tak.
During the debate show Dangal, Anchor Chitra Tripathi had raised the question whether an attempt is being made to make festivals a political weapon? If I return to Delhi from Rajasthan, it was announced by the Mayor that the meat shops will remain closed. The devotees face problems during Navratri.
Acharya said this – When such a debate takes place in the name of religion, then BJP benefits from it. This is also proven. What Dr.Patra is saying, he is saying very targeted (aiming). But I want to say that meat shops should be closed permanently. There is no need to be a non-vegetarian, to be a vegetarian. There is a government of Sambit Patra ji… I demand from the mayor of his party and from him that meat, fish and eggs should be banned in the whole country. These things should stop. Please consider it generously.
He further said – As far as Rajasthan is concerned, there is a Congress government there. I do not say that the government discriminates there, but politically, such controversies benefit BJP and Congress leaders do this work, which harms them. If he had to issue this order for Ramzan, then he had to issue it for Navratri as well. No government can favor any one religion or caste. Cannot favor or oppose any one. It is a wrong decision to do such a thing.
In the end, he told Sambit Patra- Hindu Muslims in elections, schools, colleges, speeches and debates… how long will they do this after all? What is the use of such power? Sometimes talk about India and humans too. The politics that is being done, I am suffering and saying that these seeds which are being sown are difficult to reap.
