The Mumbai Police had earlier filed the chargesheet that the then Mumbai Police Commissioner Rakesh Maria was removed from the post and made DG Home Guards. After him the command of Mumbai Police came in the hands of Javed Ahmed. After retirement, Rakesh Maria had made such allegations against Javed Ahmed in his book ‘Let Me Say It Now’ that there was a ruckus.
The secret of unintentionally uncovered murder: On August 21, 2015, Mumbai Police arrested a man named Shyam Manohar Rai with an illegal pistol. According to Mumbai Police records, Shyam told that three years ago he had strangled Sheena Bora to death at the behest of his mistress Indrani Mukerjea and burnt the dead body in the forests of Raigad. The body Shyam was talking about was recovered by Raigad police three years ago in 2012. But the identification could not be done even after lakhs of efforts.
Indrani in wraps and Maria in trouble: Actually, the name of the woman whose body was found was Sheena Bora. who had been missing for a long time. But his missing report was not officially registered. In the beginning of the investigation, Indrani told Sheena as her sister, but after her arrest, Indrani had told Sheena as her daughter during interrogation. There was such a big twist in the story that Rakesh Maria, the then commissioner of Mumbai Police, was removed from the post overnight and made DG Home Guards. It is alleged that their relationship is close to Peter and Indrani, so the interrogation may get affected.
Police Commissioner Vs Police Commissioner: In his book Let Me Say It Now, Rakesh Maria writes that “Ahmed Javed, who was then appointed as the Mumbai Police Commissioner in my place, knew Peter Mukerjea socially and had even invited Peter to the Eid party? Was this thing known to the then Chief Minister and Additional Chief Secretary of Home Department? Did Ahmed Javed tell these things to the Chief Minister? If yes, why were they not taken into confidence? And if not, why didn’t they consider it a serious issue?”
Javed on target In her book Let Me Say It Now, Maria further writes that “Ahmad Javed was the Additional DG Law and Order, Maharashtra when Rahul Mukherjee tried to file a complaint about Sheena Bora’s disappearance. The police of all the districts of the state come under this post. The skeleton of Sheena’s body was found in Gagode forest of Raigad district. At that time an inquiry was ordered on the role of the district police whether there was an attempt to destroy the evidence. What happened to that investigation?” Then after the friendship of the new CP and Peter Mukerjea suddenly came to the fore, the investigation of the case was given to the CBI.
Javed’s counterattack: In the letter written by the media, Javed Ahmed said that while being my ADG Law and Order, this is nothing more than false, false and objectionable on the recovery of Sheena Bora’s body.
