Mizar Pankaj Pade, a resident of Maholiya area of UP, gave his life to save one of his companions. Major Pankaj Pandey was posted on his duty in Tambola, Arunachal Pradesh. On July 19, his father Awadhesh Pandey got a call, in which he was told that Pankaj had suffered a lot. Due to which he reached Guwahati Hospital with his younger son Ashish.
Father Awadhesh Pandey told that when he got a call on July 19, he immediately reached Guwahati Hospital along with his other son. Where he came to know that his son Pankaj had fallen in the ditch of 15 thousand feet on July 19 in the morning. Pankaj was trying to save his companion by falling into the ditch. During which both he and his partner fell down together.
The martyr’s father said that he had suffered serious injuries to his neck and head due to falling down. While his partner was badly hurt. Both were admitted to the hospital. Where Pankaj died during treatment, while the accompanying companion is still out of danger. On Saturday, Pankaj’s mortal body was given a guard of honor at Assam Lekhpani with full Lakshkari honours. After which his last rites will be performed.
