The Samajwadi Party could not win seats as per its expectations in the recently held Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. Before the election, the party was claiming itself to be in the majority. He believed that this time the public would bring the Samajwadi Party government to power and send the BJP to the opposition, but the opposite happened and the BJP remained in power. In this election, the leaders who took charge of campaigning on behalf of Samajwadi Party included Akhilesh Yadav’s wife and senior party leader and Kannauj MP Dimple Yadav.
Wherever and the seats where Dimple Yadav campaigned, the party won everywhere except one candidate. He campaigned on five seats. Of these, three are from Kaushambi district only. SP candidates won all these three seats. In one seat, the Deputy Chief Minister of the state Keshav Prasad Maurya himself was the candidate, but even there the Samajwadi Party was successful in planting its flags in the field. This seat was Sirathu and here Samajwadi Party candidate Pallavi Patel defeated Keshav Prasad Maurya by 7337 votes.
After this, MP Dimple Yadav addressed the meeting for his party’s candidate Pooja Pal in Chail seat of Kaushambi district. Dimple’s magic worked here too and Pooja Pal defeated Nagendra Pal of Apna Dal by 13209 votes. Pooja Pal is the wife of former MLA Raju Pal and she has earlier become MLA for Bahujan Samaj Party many times.
The third meeting of Dimple was in Manjhanpur in Kaushambi district. Manjhanpur is also the district headquarters. From here the party’s candidate Inderjit Saroj was in the fray. He was an MLA from Bahujan Samaj Party before joining SP.
Against Inderjit Saroj was Lal Bahadur of BJP. He was a strong candidate. But after the meeting of Dimple Inderjit Singh Saroj’s position got stronger and in the election Inderjit defeated Lal Bahadur by a huge margin of 23878 votes.
