New Delhi. The Supreme Court has stayed the petition of Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind seeking a stay on the action of bulldozers in Uttar Pradesh. During the hearing held in the Supreme Court on Wednesday, giving a jolt to Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind, he said that how can he give such orders?. Let us tell you, Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind had demanded a stay on the action of ‘bulldozer’ from the court in the petition. Advocate Dushyant Dave, appearing for the petitioner, demanded that such action should be stopped during the ongoing hearing in the court. However, the court made it clear that how can they give such an order? Now the court has adjourned the hearing of the case till August 10. Along with this, the court has also issued notices to Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat in this matter and sought answers on such action.
While hearing the matter, the bench said, “Law has to be followed, there is no dispute about it. But can we pass a universal order? By passing such an all-encompassing order, will we not stop the authorities from taking action against the violators.”
Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind has filed a petition
Recently, after the violence in different cities of Uttar Pradesh including Kanpur, Prayagraj, action was taken by the Yogi government to bulldozer on the illegal properties of the accused. Against these actions Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind filed a petition in the Supreme Court. It has been said in the petition that the UP government is deliberately working to take unilateral action on Muslims.
UP government gave this answer
Earlier, while filing a reply, the UP government had said that in Uttar Pradesh, action was taken as per the law. Legal action has been taken by the administration against the people who got the illegal construction done. In its reply, the government said that Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind is working to mislead the court by filing a petition. Therefore, considering this petition as not maintainable, such petition should be dismissed. The government has said in the court that action has been taken against only those people who had occupied government land.
