Hyderabad. Amid opposition’s attack on Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh over reservation, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat on Sunday said that the organization has always supported reservation as per the Constitution. He said that the organization advocates the continuation of reservation as long as ‘discrimination’ continues to prevail.
Addressing the inauguration ceremony of Vidya Bharati Science Center in Hyderabad, Bhagwat referred to a video viral on social media and said that it falsely claimed that RSS opposes reservation. He said that in the video he is shown holding a meeting, whereas no such meeting took place.
‘The Sangh fully supported reservation as per the Constitution’
The RSS chief said that ever since reservation came into existence, the Sangh has fully supported reservation as per the Constitution. He said, ‘The Sangh says that reservation should continue as long as the people who have been given it feel that they need it.’

Referring to this alleged video, Bhagwat said that with the help of technology and artificial intelligence, what did not happen can also be shown. In the war of words between Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress regarding reservation, Bhagwat has commented in support of reservation.

Rahul Gandhi attacked
Countering Bhagwat’s comment, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi claimed on Sunday that Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh is saying today that it is not against reservation, but earlier it had said that it would oppose reservation.
Addressing an election rally in the Union Territory of Daman and Diu, Gandhi alleged, ‘He (Mohan Bhagwat) himself had given the statement that he is against reservation. Those who are against reservation are joining his party (BJP). He welcomes all those who are against reservation and then he (Bhagwat) says that he is not against reservation.
Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy had alleged on Saturday that RSS-BJP oppose reservation.
