The pace of car sales in the country continues to grow. The latest figures released by the Federation of Automobile Dealers Association (FADA) on Wednesday are indicating this. According to FADA, retail sales of passenger vehicles increased by 27 percent year-on-year to 22,06,070 units in April. According to Bhasha news, industry body FADA said that the total registration of vehicles in April 2023 was 17,40,649 units. Retail sales of passenger vehicles increased by 16 percent to 3,35,123 units last month, compared to 2,89,056 units in the same month in 2023.
Registration of two-wheelers and three-wheelers in April
According to the news, registration of two-wheelers increased by 33 percent to 16,43,510 units in April, whereas in April 2023 it was 12,33,763 units. In April, retail sales of commercial vehicles registered an annual increase of two percent and reached 90,707 units. Three-wheeler sales in April rose nine per cent year-on-year to 80,105 units, while tractor sales rose one per cent to 56,625 units.
Festivals supported sales
Federation of Automobile Dealers Association (FADA) President Manish Raj Singhania said the passenger vehicle category recorded double-digit YoY growth, driven by better availability of models and favorable market sentiments (especially during Navratri and Gudi Padwa). How were the sales in the financial year 2023-24
According to FADA, 39.48 lakh vehicles were sold in the last financial year 2023-24. It had increased by 8.45 percent on annual basis. Similarly, in the last financial year, sales of two-wheelers were recorded at 1.75 crore units, which is 9.30 percent more than 1.6 crore units in the financial year 2023.
